Toyota to Increase V6 Engine Production in Alabama

$80M investment to create 125 jobs
 
Total North American job announcements hit 1,100 this year

ERLANGER, Ky. (May 17, 2012) -- Toyota announced today it will expand its Huntsville, Ala. engine facility to increase North American production of V6 engines. The approximately $80 million investment will bring total plant investment to more than $700 million. Approximately 125 new jobs will be created, increasing employment nearly 10 percent to 1,150.

TORRANCE, Calif. (May 1, 2012) - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported sales of 178,044 units, an increase of 25.5 percent compared to April 2011 on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis. Unadjusted for 24 selling days in April 2012 versus 27 selling days in April 2011, TMS sales were up 11.6 percent over the year-ago month on a raw volume basis.

Toyota Technical Center Opens Silicon Valley Office

CAMBRIDGE, Ontario (March 28, 2012) - Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC) will increase RAV4 production at its Woodstock, Ontario assembly plant from 150,000 annual capacity to 200,000 vehicles. Ultimately, this $80 million [CAD] investment will result in about 400 new jobs between now and implementation in early 2013.
